Red & White: Teleton day

Last Wednesday, 20th of October, the whole school had its annual fundraising day to help Teleton. Teleton is an organization that helps rehabilitate and treat kids and teenagers with different disabilities.

Over the years Teleton managed to fund two centers, where kids have access to new technology and initiatives to make their recovery more endurable and fun. The problem is that to ensure this free service for those who need it, funding is necessary.

Due to this very important issue, The British School is determined to help which is why once again the student body and staff were encouraged to lose the uniforms for one day, wear Teleton’s colours, red and white, and donate to the cause.

To raise awareness Teleton also provided the school with fun stickers, for students to colour and decorate their lockers with them. Leaving the corridors more colourful than ever, and sharing an important message.

Piggy banks were placed all over the school, where donations could be left. It’s crucial to show our support towards Teleton’s objectives, but the money collected might be the difference between some kids having access to treatment or not.

For more information please see Teleton’s official webpage, where their programs and objectives are clearly stated. You can also check out this video, where some heart-touching experiences are shared that will bring these issues to life.

Speaking about kindness is important, but true change comes from actions.
