Awareness and Celebrations: Toy Campaign

Welcome back, students! We hope you have enjoyed your much-deserved holidays and have recharged batteries to face this second semester. This month, the Awareness and Celebrations campaign is back with a new edition that focuses on Children’s rights.

Children’s rights are something of high importance in the international community, for children are sometimes exploited or not taken into consideration, but they are individuals just as everyone else, and more importantly, they are the figures that will determine the future of our planet. It is because of this that we must ensure their rights are being fulfilled, especially considering that they are still not totally independent and therefore may not advocate for them themselves. Said rights include things such as the right to access education, public health, running water, and nourishment. Unfortunately, we are aware that not everyone gets to enjoy these rights, so here at school we encourage everyone to reflect on how grateful we must be for the things we have, and try and make a difference in someone else’s lives - no matter how small.

But children, besides having their basic necessities covered, should also get to enjoy these precious childhood moments, so here at school, we wish to gift some of this happiness to others in the form of toys, especially considering that Children’s Day is around the corner (August 8). In order to do so, the school has organized a Toy Campaign on Wednesday, July 28. During this day, all students and staff are to come to school wearing their respective house colors, and are asked to donate toys decorated with a ribbon of their house color (Please refrain from using plastic bags or wrapping paper). Tables will be placed on all Senior and Junior entrances for students to leave their contributions.

We invite you now to watch the following video created by Y6L student Paula Pérez, and see you on Wednesday!
