As of last Tuesday, museums in Montevideo are open to visitors, such as Museo Nacional de Artes Visuales or Espacio de Arte Contemporáneo. You can visit their respective websites for their schedules and location. Furthermore, the Plaza de los Toros Real de San Carlos in Colonia del Sacramento is in its final restoring stage and is also receiving tourists after over a century of being closed. Guests can visit between 11:00 to 17:00 throughout the weekend.

If you are searching to travel further away from the capital, maybe a mining safari consisting of agates and amethysts in the department of Artigas will interest you. It is carried out by the Hotel Casino San Eugenio del Cuareim and includes a subterranean restaurant. Or you could opt for a classic location: Fuente del Puma. Located in Lavalleja, the Reserva Natural Salus is home to a variety of indigenous plants and trees.

In addition, we have stay-at-home activities for those of you who are not much of the adventurous type. You could begin taking a free online course in EdX or a paid one in Masterclass. EdX has free courses in diverse areas, such as one about Computer Science fundamentals, or even something as unique as food fermentation! Masterclass, on the other hand, requires a paid subscription, but if you already have a topic in mind which you want to start exploring, it is an amazing tool, as it has world-renowned specialists in their field teaching you - you may learn how to cook from Gordon Ramsey, or tennis from Serena Williams!
This is also the perfect opportunity to pick up a new hobby such as learning how to play an instrument, a new language, or how to cook. With the extended break, you will have plenty of time to pursue a pastime. Finally, we encourage you to read that book you have been wanting to read for a long time and, if your reading list is empty, you can check out our weekly recommendations to start filling it in!
All in all, we the Media Club Team would like to wish you all a happy holiday, for they are well deserved, and we cannot wait to keep informing you in three weeks' time!
