Spider-Man: No Way Home

This year, the third part of Tom Holland’s will finally arrive in theatres on December 17. After Spider-Man: Far from Home’s cliffhanger, fans of the movie franchise will finally get a response to their burning questions.

Many have returned as part of the crew and cast for this installment, such as Jon Watts as director of the film and writers Chris McKenna and Erik Sommers. In production, Kevin Feige will manage the Marvel Studios side while Amy Pascal will be representing Sony.

Several months ago, on August 23rd, the first official trailer (shown below) was released under Sony Pictures Entertainment’s Youtube channel. It promises an interesting plot and spectators have an overall positive approval of the teaser.

Tom Holland is obviously Spider-Man once again, along with Zendaya as Mary Jane, Peter Parker’s girlfriend, and Jacob Batalan as his memorable best friend, Ned Leeds. Taking on the hero’s mentor, Benedict Cumberbatch will reprise his role as Doctor Strange, replacing the spot formerly occupied by Tony Stark (Robert Downey Jr.) and Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson).

Furthermore, there are some new additions to the cast, including Jamie Foxx as Electro and Alfred Molina as Doctor Octopus, previous villains from The Amazing Spider-Man 2 and Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man 2 respectively. Spider-Man: No Way Home will definitely confuse some spectators with the mix of these separate continuities.

The movie began filming in New York City in October 2020 and then continued its work in Atlanta, Georgia until March of this year. In the preceding installment, fans watched Mysterio (Jake Gyllenhaal) expose Peter’s identity to the world, which forces the hero to consult Doctor Strange to get back his anonymity, triggering a long chain reaction of time-space events in the Multiverse.

Moreover, various rumors have surrounded the franchise about Tobey Maguire, the original Spider-Man, and Andrew Garfield, his successor, making a surprise appearance to celebrate the 20th anniversary of the hero’s legacy. In addition, Kristen Dunst, the first Mary Jane, and Emma Stone as Gwen Stacy are also allegedly said to be featured briefly in the film.
