After almost ten years of Peaky Blinders, the beloved series is coming to an end with an amazing final season. First airing the 12th of September in 2013, the show follows the leader of the Peaky Blinders gang, Tommy Shelby played by Cillian Murphy, in Birmingham, England after the First World War. The gangsters are based on a group of the same name that surged around the late 19th century and was active until the early 20th century.
On February 27th, the first episode for the 6th and culminating season was released. It is currently airing every week on the BBC only for those residing in the United Kingdom. The season was confirmed to be available to stream on Netflix starting June 10th, so fans will need to navigate socials carefully in order not to spoil themselves the epic finale.

Originally, it planned to have a duration of seven seasons, but this was cancelled due to the delay the COVID-19 pandemic caused in the production of the show. However, Steven Knight, the creator of Peaky Blinders, announced last year that the closing episode would be an hour-long and, to top it all off, a spin-off movie inspired by the events set to occur in season seven will be released in 2023.
Talking to Esquire, Knight stated that “In series six we're bringing in the new generation, and they are going to be part of what happens in the film”. This opens the door for a new set of actors to play characters and roles never seen before in the Peaky Blinders Universe. In addition, the writer also expressed his desire to set the series between the end of WWI and the beginning of WWII, therefore leaving the film to be set after this time period. Murphy is already confirmed to be involved in the new project, but his role has yet to be found out.
