Aristotle and Dante Discover the Secrets of the Universe (Book)

This is a novel about family and friendship that follows Aristotles, an angry teenager whose brother is in prison, and Dante, a know-it-all that has a unique way of looking at the world. One day, the two boys meet at a swimming pool and it seems like they are nothing alike.
Nevertheless, they spend more and more time together, and they soon realize that they have a very special friendship that would change their lives forever. And it’s because of this friendship Ari and Dante learn important lessons about who they are and who they want to become.
It is an awesome book about a complicated relationship between two boys just learning to accept themselves and their families and learning to love each other. An extremely cute and wholesome romance, you won’t be able to put down. It also deals with being gay in the 80s and all the struggles that come with it.
The invisible life of Addie LaRue (Book)

This book is all about Adeline LaRue, a girl condemned to be forgotten by everyone she meets. She made a Faustian deal for her freedom on the night she is supposed to get married, and exchanges her soul for the chance to live her life to the fullest without aging or dying. Fast forward 300 years, we follow her in an amazing adventure across centuries and continents to see her try so hard to leave a mark on the world despite that horrible deal. And on one strange day, Addie meets a man in a hidden book store that remembers her name.
It is such a unique story and it is so entertaining you definitely won’t be able to put it down. Besides, it deals with our desires and the price we have to pay in order to get the life we want, the need to be remembered, and how lonely life can be.
9-1-1 (Series)

This is a series about the lives of Los Angeles first responders - policemen, paramedics, and firefighters - that put themselves in dangerous situations in order to save people's lives. It shows you what they do in their job as well as how they deal with their personal problems. You get to see everything, from the call to the arrival of the first responders, and sometimes you even see what happens after the accidents.
This is an amazing series, it always keeps you at the edge of your seat and all the characters are so well developed you can’t help but feel for them and hope that they’ll stay alive. It also deals with important topics such as racism, the struggles of being gay, and getting out of a toxic relationship.
However, beware, there is blood and deaths, and if anything like that is triggering for you or you think you might be sensitive I would suggest you skip it (if this isn’t your case don’t be put off because it’s really good I swear)
Lupin (Series)

This series is a retelling of the French story about Arsène Lupin, the world-famous burglar and master of disguise. The story follows professional thief renamed Assane Diop, the only son of an immigrant from Senegal who had come to France to seek a better life for his child and avenge his father for injustice by a wealthy family.
This series is totally gripping, you will be completely immersed. All the stunts and disguises are incredibly well-executed and all the characters are so well developed you get attached to them. It also has a little bit of comedy despite being a drama show. Besides, there is a new season so you’ll get double the content to wait for the next season.
In the heights (Movie)

This movie is set in The Heights, a neighborhood populated mostly by Dominicans and Puerto Ricans. They are all just trying to reach their goals and have a better life. Our main character, however, wants to go back to the Dominican Republic to reopen his father’s old bar from when he was a child. And they all sing about the things they go through.
This movie deals with the experiences of Latin American immigrants in modern United States so it shows you the reality of these people, but it shows it with amazing Latin music. It is highly entertaining and you certainly won’t regret watching it.
Get out (Movie)

This movie follows Chris, an African-American man that decides to visit his Caucasian girlfriend Rose's parents during a weekend getaway. They seem normal at first, but he was definitely not prepared to experience the horrors ahead. At first, the family has an overly accommodating behavior and they nervously attempt to deal with their daughter's interracial relationship, but as the weekend progresses, a series of increasingly disturbing discoveries lead him to a truth that he never could have imagined.
This is a ✨brilliant✨ horror/thriller with an amazing plot that has amazing performances by the awesome cast. All the plot twists that occur throughout the film are just *chef's kiss*.
Besides the different camera angles and techniques the filming crew used made you feel all the emotions the characters did and helped you set yourself in the movie. Moreover, it deals with racism in a very interesting way: It shows how white people believe that they are not racist and desperately attempt to prove how not racist they are, but it also teaches you how incredibly uncomfortable white people can make black people feel.
