The girl with the Dragon Tattoo (Book)

This is a psychological thriller about Mikael Blomkvist, a journalist who was hired to investigate the disappearance of a member of one of Sweden's wealthiest families which happened 40 years ago, petition of her uncle. Our second protagonist is Lisbeth Salander, a twenty-four-year-old pierced and tattooed hacker who is going to help Mikael unravel the truth.

This story is a very interesting one, it combines murder mystery with family drama so it keeps you at the edge of your seat. It is highly entertaining and has a great atmosphere. Besides, the characters are really complex and interesting, making the story feel more real. And also the writing is really good if that’s something that you’re interested in. The good news is that if you like this book there are two more you can read. And if you’re not into reading, there’s a movie.

Freaks and Geeks (Series)

The series is set in 1980 and follows a group of students through their high school years. It explores the typical high school problems everyone can have and some more specific of the era. And it shows the difference between cliques and age in high school.

The series is a coming-of-age story, so it’s very relatable to teenagers even though it’s not the eighties. It also takes an interesting look at teenagehood from various angles without judging people based on their social cliques and who they are. It also highlights some cool aspects of the eighties, making it a little bit exaggerated which makes it more entertaining.

The characters are really good and it’s entertaining to see them interacting because they are exaggerated. It also feels more realistic than other shows despite these exaggerations. There are some very funny quotes as well, but one of its main attributes is that the protagonist makes mistakes and it is all part of growing up and she learns from them so it feels more real.

Nevertheless (Series)

The series showcases a romance between two art students, a flirty man who hates relationships and a woman who got heartbroken but still hopes of finding love. Despite this, we can see the romance and passion ignited between the main character and the love interest. We also get to see them making art and struggling to try to make it as an artist.

The show is so good, you’ll experience so many emotions along with the main character and although they make questionable decisions, the plot is so worth it. Furthermore, most of the viewers and lovers of KDramas think it doesn’t follow normal tropes presented in dramas, so you might like this if you are looking for some change. Their relationship flourishes rather instantly and there are deep messages. If you want a typical slow drama this is not for you. If you still need convincing, there is a love triangle and also other relationships that you get plenty of content from, so what are you waiting for?

Vicious (Book)

This is a fantasy novel that follows two college students, Victor and Eli, who learn how to create superhuman abilities and later become archenemies. In their last year, they discover in an experiment that under the right conditions, someone could develop extraordinary abilities. Flash forward ten years later, Victor breaks out of prison and is determined to catch up to his old friend with the help of a young girl with a stunning ability. Meanwhile, Eli is on a mission to eliminate every other super-powered person that he can find. They both have incredible power, so who will reach their goal?

This book is really interesting. It’s set in a world where gaining superpowers doesn't automatically make you a hero, it deals a lot with morality. It tackles the issue of facing consequences for your actions and punishment. However, the best part of the book is the characters. They are amazing and complex, they end up complete opposites despite going through similar experiences because they developed so differently. 100% would recommend this book.

I want to eat your pancreas (Movie)

In this movie, a loner finds a book in a hospital waiting room, and he soon discovers that it is the diary of a very popular girl in his school. She then proceeds to reveal to him that she is secretly suffering from a fatal pancreatic illness.

The movie is really sweet but also incredibly sad. It is about forming relationships but also the struggles of a fatal illness and grieve when someone close dies. The relationship they form is really cute and even though I can't say much more so as not to spoil the story, it’s definitely worth watching.

Naruto (Series)

"Naruto is a Japanese manga series written and illustrated by Masashi Kishimoto. It tells the story of Naruto Uzumaki, a young ninja who seeks recognition from his peers and dreams of becoming the Hokage, the leader of his village." During the series, you will get to know Naruto and his heartbreaking past, something that will make you fall in love with him.

Now, you may ask, why is it one of the most popular animes in the world? Well, one of the main reasons that make this manga so popular is that it is one of the most heartfelt animes that have ever existed. This has a lot to do with the beginnings of the series's main character and his dark and depressing start.

Another reason might be that it teaches that perseverance and never giving up is extremely important when it's time to achieve our goals and complete our most desired dreams.

I personally think that that is the most wonderful thing about this anime. Because although the main character had a horrible and depressing beginning, he never renounces his dream. No matter what happened he continued fighting to complete his objective. Which at the end of the series he ends up achieving.
