Balenciaga premieres their catwalk in an unusual way...

Balenciaga stood out in the latest Paris Fashion Week catwalk, thanks to the well-known cartoon show ‘The Simpsons’. The crowd at the Théâtre du Châtelet was caught off guard: instead of the expected runway show they were greeted by a 10-minute episode of ‘The Simpsons’. The runway was in an animation format, with the models being The Simpsons family and other characters.

In this episode, Homer writes a letter to Denma Gvasalia, Balenciaga’s creative director, asking for a gown for Marge’s birthday. Due to the expense of the garment, they decide to return the gown with a letter of thanks to Denma. Moved by Marge’s letter, Denma invites the whole of Springfield to participate in Balenciaga’s Paris Fashion Week catwalk. After some convincing, the town travels to Paris and walks the runway.

The short film made fun of the excesses of the fashion world and the expensive gown that Marge got for her birthday. In this episode, various celebrities can be seen in the audience such as Kim Kardashian, Justin Beiber, Kanye West, and Anna Wintour.

The episode, which was created by Matt Groening and executive producer John Landgraf, was a 10-minute take on the animated series. Gvasalia was a Simpsons fan since young. He thought that this mixture between The Simpsons and a Paris Fashion Week catwalk would be a unique yet fun experience for the guests. This was a crowd-pleaser.

For this season, the brand has also chosen to use materials that are made from sustainable sources, such as plant-based leather and upcycled denim. According to the label, its entire collection is certified sustainable.

After this shocking and creative display, the audience roared with applause and approval and can not wait for what Balenciaga has got prepared for them next season.
