2021 Billboard Music Awards: Here is what you’ve missed

On Sunday, May 23, the 2021 Billboard Music Awards were held at Microsoft Theatre in Los Angeles. Kelly Clarkson, who previously hosted the ceremony for three consecutive years, succeeded over her role to Nick Jonas.
The American singer, Pink, was the tenth artist in the awards’ history and the youngest to ever receive the Icon Award. Previous winners included Prince, Jennifer Lopez, Mariah Carey, Cher, and Céline Dione. The songwriter accompanied her appearance with an acrobatic performance of a medley of her hit songs and was joined by her 9-year-old daughter, Willow.
The artists who received the most wins during the night included the late Pop smoke with the Top New Artist, Top Rap Artist, Top Rap Male Artist, Top Billboard 200 Album, and Top Rap Album awards; BTS taking home the Best Duo/Group, Top Social Artist, Top Selling Song, and Top Song Sales Artist; and The Weeknd who picked up ten awards: Top Artist and Top Male Artist, Top Hot 100 Artist, Top Radio Songs Artist, Top R&B Artist, and Top R&B Male Artist, Top Hot 100 Song, Top Radio Song, Top R&B Song, and Top R&B Album.
Other winners were Taylor Swift with Top Female Artist and Top Billboard 200 Artist; Karol G with Top Latin Female Artist; Bad Bunny’s Top Latin Artist, Top Latin Male Artist, Top Latin Album and Top Latin Song; and Machine Gun Kelly with the Top Rock Artist and Top Rock Album awards.
